Noted Alumni Project

PROJECT UPDATE: The principals at Ephrata High School have proposed a project in co-operation with the Ephrata Alumni Association. The association has been given access to a showcase located in the school's commons area that can be used to feature alumni stores from the "Noted Alumni Project". The intent of the display is to show the current students of the Ephrata High School that previous students have gone on to experience and succeed in a wide range of professional and prsonal achievements.

Ephrata Tiger alumni are an interesting and diverse group of individuals. After leaving the small-school atmosphere of Ephrata High School and venturing out into the “real world”, they found themselves engaged in pursuit of many adventures. Their life-stories, achieved through a wide variety of activities and achievements, makes for interesting reading. The Ephrata Alumni Association’s website provides the opportunity in which to share these unique stories.

Having access to the life-stories of their fellow alumni in this manner is similar to experiencing an Ephrata All-Class reunion. This is a perfect way to catch up with friends and learn about notable achievements and events in their lives without the travel time and expense usually associated with attending a reunion. At reunions it is common to hear snatches of conversation with a variety of questions. Did you hear “who won the lottery”? Or, “who climbed a mountain, was a foster parent, established a food bank, wrote a book, won a national championship, invented a useful object”? Do you know who the person is that “became CEO of a major company, received a prestigious award, established a hometown business, traveled the world, completed a marathon, rode a bike across the United States”? Can you believe the stories of classmates who participated in heroic events by “rescuing a person in distress, working with the Red Cross in a disaster area, serving in the military, saving a life”? Sharing the stories of Ephrata High School alumni will help provide answers to some of these questions and will be a source of enjoyment for classmates and friends.

Ephrata High School alumni are invited and encouraged to submit a real-life story of themselves or of a fellow graduate which will be posted on the “Noted Alumni” site of the alumni association website. The stories can be submitted by letter, word documents, reference to Google postings, or with a copy of a newspaper article. Check out the current alumni storries for ideas. Submissions will be edited for their size and content. Follow-ups on submissions may occur.
