Jim Berschauer

2002 Profile

This is what I have done for the last forty years:

Marylin and I have raised our family in Ephrata. Sheila, Mike, Pat and Katie have grown up here and have been involved in our Ace Hardware business over the past 35 years. Berschauer’s Ace Hardware Inc. and Berschauer’s Business Center, which we built in 1980, have consumed a large part of our lives. Marylin and I have created a very strong business that has weathered many years of ups and downs in the business world.

Ephrata has given us a strong family base and an opportunity to raise our family in an environment only possible when the community enjoys family values. I have been a Port Commissioner for 12 years. Six of those years I served as president. We have been involved in many community activities, church and the St. Rose School over the years. We feel family, community and a strong faith help us all live in a world of uncertainty. On August 28 we celebrated our 37th anniversary and have three wonderful grandchildren, Riley, Gracen, and Ethan.
